The long “Turkey” weekend…

Monday, November 26, 2007

The long “Turkey” Thanksgiving weekend zoomed by in a flash.  Thanksgiving fell on Thursday, 22 November, but Elan took Friday off so it was a long weekend for us.  It was one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had – the theme being lazing, lazing and more slobbing.  The only sad thing is that Divya has caught the flu from me.  It’s so much worse when she falls sick because babies take so much longer  to recover and it’s unbearable for me watching her little self fight the flu.  This fuelled my courage to take that damn flu shot – and let me say, it’s b***** painful after you’ve taken it, and the day after and the day after…… and if anyone begs to differ, you better think twice :p

Instead of rambling about my weekend, here is a summary and some meaning-filled pictures 🙂 – after all…….

If a picture painted thousand words
Then mine would paint a million
Words will never show, the weekend I had you know

If a turkey could say a few words to you
It’d say “do you want to be my friend too”
And as you aimed your arrow and bow
It’d say “Hey…….. burrito
(Ignore the words in the video and use mine instead) How now  brown cow…..YES!!! the one on the left.  Me – shivering and running to the car.

A romantic candlelight thanksgiving dinner [Turkey made by Elan, Mashed Potatoes made by Betty Crocker and the Pecan Pie made by me 🙂 ]

Lots of shopping – we missed Black Friday to avoid the crowds only to face Orange Saturday with a whole lot of shopping – my biggest purchase being my new Columbia jacket [cool right? :)]

Ofcourse not forgetting our house-hunting spying [I love it – love looking at other people’s houses and getting ideas for our future home].  So there it is – that was my Thanksgiving weekend.

Actually, surprisingly, it was delicious. I had never had it ever before – but it was Elan’s request. SUPER-EASY recipe – that’s the best part. Hey, and don’t compare me to that DAMN Martha – can’t stand her.

I agree! And this cow looked so sad that I just came to take a photo and left – she looked like she was expecting a snack or at least some socialising. I tried to say Hi – but she didn’t look so interested in that.
